🇪🇸Por mi parte a mi me gusta más el swing apuntando un poco a la izquierda o derecha. Camino del palo a 0.0 en primer lugar es muy difícil, luego si el cara no está cuadrada al impacto (suponiendo que el lie del palo es 0.0 también, que veo muy pocas veces) la bola siempre va lejos del objetivo. Con el camino del palo apunta un poco a la izquierda o derecha la bola normalmente va más al objetivo. Por mi parte la guía es que el camino del palo vaya entre 2-5 grados por un lado, a más que 5 grados normalmente hay demasiada forma y es más difícil a dar la otra forma del vuelo cuando lo necesitamos. 🇪🇸El swing de Brooks Koepka grabado el viernes pasado por un amigo mío. ?Cuales cosas podemos aprender de su swing?. En primer lugar Koepka optimiza su propio swing sin intentar a seguir una ‘plantilla del swing perfecto’. La mejor versión del swing es distinta por cada uno así que busca lo que funciona para ti. En segundo lugar su presión se mueve a la derecha en la primera parte del swing, con el valor máximo cuando sus brazos están más o menos paralelos al suelo no al final de la subida, luego su presión ‘recentra’ en la segunda parte de la subida. La bajada comienza con un movimiento lateral en la dirección del objetivo antes de desgirar. Finalmente nota como su pelvis se acelera rápidamente luego se frena rápidamente en la segunda parte de la bajada, ese crea un ‘retroceso’ en su torso que genera mucha más velocidad. Mucha gente buscar más y más desgira con la pelvis en la bajada para generar más velocidad, no es así. En resumen busca la mejor versión de tu swing, tu presión se mueve hacia atrás, al centro, luego adelante y aprendes a frenar la pelvis en la bajada para generar más velocidad. 🇬🇧Here’s Brooks Koepka’s swing filmed by a friend of mine on Friday at the USPGA. What can we learn from this swing?. Firstly, Koepka looks to optimize his own swing pattern, without trying to follow the ‘template of the perfect swing’. Your best swing is exactly that, don’t try to follow a ‘method’ they generally work for very few people. Secondly, Koepka’s pressure moves back at the start of the backswing, with the maximum value when his arms are around parallel, not at the end of the backswing, he then ‘recentres’ in the second part of the backswing. The downswing starts with a lateral movement towards the target before starting to unwind to impact. Finally, note how his pelvis accelerates fast at the start of the downswing, then brakes quickly, this creates a ‘recoil’ action with his torso which helps to generate more speed. Below the ‘push up’ starts earlier, when the left arm is parallel to the ground, generating 3mph more clubhead speed, less dynamic loft and greater impact efficiency. 🇪🇸Aprende a ‘empujar arriba’ en la bajada en la posición correcta. Tarde, como la imagen arriba, no da tiempo para desgirar y extender y crear más velocidad en el palo al impacto y soltar el palo correctamente. 🇪🇸Algo que salió por casualidad practicando en el invierno con la puerta cerrada. Muchos jugadores controlan las distancias del approach mejor sin ver el objetivo, haciendolo más con ‘feeling’. Muchas veces, sin percibir la distancia perfectamente, se lían utilizando una referencia visual. Aquí hemos hecho el test de nuevo con un grupo del Junior Performance hoy. Los resultados están en la pizarra en la última imagen, en negra utilizando los conos, en verde con la puerta cerrada. Nota que dos de los tres en el grupo hicieron las distancias mejor ‘ciego’. Por eso intentamos a pensar de una cifra cierta a que queremos botar la bola. Contando más con la distancia y menos con referencia visual. 🇬🇧Something that we saw by chance practicing in the winter with the studio door closed. Most students are able to control pitching distances better without seeing the target, or using visual references. Here we did the test again today using one of our Junior Performance groups. The results are on the whiteboard in the last photo. Black is using the cones, green with the door closed. Note how the two of the three in the group did better doing it ‘blind’. Because of that we try think more of a specific number where we want to land the ball, relying more on this than a visual reference
